John J. Crisalli Jr | The Newtown Bee

Published: May 21, 2024 4:05 PM

John J. Crisalli Jr. of New Milford passed away peacefully on May 18 after his courageous battle with cancer.

John, the son of John Sr. and the late Mary Ann (Gaviglia) Crisalli, was born on August 11, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY, and later moved with his family to Sandy Hook.

“Johnny,” as he was known to those who loved him, was a man of many hats, literally and figuratively. In his sixty years of life, John has accomplished many things, including opening Johnny’s Auto, his first business. He loved everything that had to do with cars, guns and good pastries, but what he loved most was his family.

John never met a stranger; he was a friend to everyone. The man was made of magic. He was never faced with a problem he couldn’t solve, or a deal he couldn’t close. His sense of humor, his smile and his unwavering strength will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

John will watch over his wife Donna, to whom he was married for 36 wonderful years; his daughter Alicia, whom he adoringly called “Boo”; his daughter Amanda and son-in-law Edward (Shrack); his pride and joy, his grandson Eric Christopher Shrack (his buddy); his brother Joseph Crisalli; his sister Theresa Mitchell (David); his father John Crisalli Sr. (Gail); several nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends.

We are sure that he was met at the gates of heaven by his mother, Mary Ann, who got her angel wings before him, and that he laughs endlessly with his father-in-law and brother-in-law.

Visiting hours are Friday, May 24 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Honan Funeral Home 58 Main Street in Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name be made to one of the following organizations: The Cancer Care Fund of The Litchfield Hills, Camella’s Cupboard of New Milford and/or Connecticut Junior Republic of Goshen.
