Ayla Brown and Bailee O’Neil were selected as East Liverpool High School delegates to the 2024 Buckeye Girls State on the Bowling Green State University campus June 9-15. Buckeye Girls State is the name given to Ohio’s Girls State program, which was designed to educate young women in Ohio about the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship. By becoming involved in the process, delegates can learn more about city, county and state government. The Ohio American Legion Auxiliary 374 has been a proud sponsor of Buckeye Girls State for the past 77 years. Through hands-on experience, young women have the opportunity to not only learn the workings of local and state government; but also teach citizenship and patriotism; acquire self-confidence, poise and character.
