The new service promises to deliver freight one to two weeks faster than existing transatlantic options from these Irish ports. This improvement is attributed to several factors.

Firstly, the service uses Liverpool as the first and last port of call in Europe, eliminating time spent in intermediate European ports. Secondly, Liverpool’s location is geographically closer to both Dublin and Belfast compared to continental ports, reducing sailing time and fuel consumption. In addition, ACL and BGFL have coordinated their schedules to minimize connection times in Liverpool and ensure a smooth transition between their ships. Finally, the service will be given priority access to berths and crane access in Liverpool to ensure consistent weekly connections.

This partnership brings together ACL’s extensive experience at the Port of Liverpool (57 years) with BGFL and Peel Ports, which operate the main maritime terminals in Dublin, Liverpool and Belfast. This combined expertise is expected to ensure reliable performance throughout the shipping chain.

The company highlights several benefits for shippers using this new service. Significantly faster freight delivery times are promised compared to existing options.

Additionally, the optimized connections and port prioritization aim to improve scheduling consistency and reliability. Finally, shippers can count on ACL’s established reputation for high-quality customer service.
